One of the easiest ways to become involved with Public Health Service Athletics is to participate in or lead a "piggyback" event. Piggyback events are existing athletic or wellness activities organized by another organization, race director, community group, employer, or sponsor that PHSA participants choose to support and attend together.
This page provides a list of known athletic events that may present opportunities for PHSA participation and leadership. The list is intended solely as a planning resource to help officers identify potential opportunities to promote fitness, wellness, camaraderie, and visibility while representing the U.S. Public Health Service.
Events included on this list have not necessarily been reviewed, approved, endorsed, sponsored, or supported by Public Health Service Athletics. Inclusion on this page does not constitute endorsement by Public Health Service Athletics, the Office of the Surgeon General, the U.S. Public Health Service, the Department of Health and Human Services, or the United States Government.
Officers interested in leading participation at one of these events are encouraged to review the Event Leader Resources, familiarize themselves with event qualification criteria, and submit an Event Request Form for consideration.
If you are aware of additional athletic events that may be suitable opportunities for PHSA participation, please contact the PHSA Operations Team for consideration.
